Zinc oxide works to naturally reflect both UVA and UVB rays, which is crucial for preventing skin discoloration, cancer, and signs of aging. Our sunscreen uses non-nano particle mineral zinc oxide and titanium dioxide to reflect the suns UVA and UVB rays. We strive for ingredients with intention so we use only dermatologist recommended, locally sourced ingredients. We leave all that out so you can be protected in the sun without sacrificing clear, healthy skin. On top of that, common skin irritants and allergens such as parabens, salicylates, phthalates, gluten, dyes, and fragrance often bulk up skin care products. We make sure to use reef safe ingredients.

Our sunscreen is free of harmful ingredients found in other sun protection products like Benzophenone-3/Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, and nanoparticles, which not only disrupt our hormones and bodily function, but are also toxic to coral reefs.
Smooth on this gentle, broad spectrum sunscreen packed with natural, mineral zinc oxide for sun protection from both UVA and UVB rays. I'm trying to avoid alcohol in my skin care as much as possible (or at least, have it not be too high on the ingredient list), so keep that in mind.Protect your skin from the sun with Cleure SPF 30 mineral sunscreen. HOWEVER: alcohol is like the 3rd ingredient (behind water and the actual sunscreen zinc oxide), so since I also used this as my on-the-go-reapply-every-two-hours sunscreen, it became very drying. The bottle also small enough to put in my purse. Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk: No white cast at all, and cheap to boot. Might be my favorite of the 3, all considered. There is alcohol, but it's pretty low on the ingredient list (the middle of a long list). Make P:rem Blue Ray Sun Fluid (blue cap): almost no white cast, or at least definitely less than the Defense Me, and not as thick since it's not a cream. Make P:rem UV Defense Me Cream (orange cap): some white cast, particularly if your skin is not well moisturized beforehand, but if your skin is not dry/dehydrated, the white cast isn't bad. I've used the following, based on recommendations from Liah Yoo and Gothamista: Neostrata/Exuviance sheer daily protector spf 50 has a very light tan tint, which shows up as a cast on me but could work if you are lighter. Skinceuticals physical fusion spf 50 is very liquidy and the tint is neutral, makes me look ashy but if you don't have a yellow undertone could work. The first two have more of a thick lotion texture, while the other three are very silicone-y.Ĭotz face spf 40 is also like a silicone primer, tint is more neutral. Jan marini physical protectant spf 45, Skinmedica essential mineral defense spf 32, Replenix ultimatte spf 50, Bareminerals prime time bb spf 30, and Mybody protect & serve tinted sun shield spf 30 all have quite yellow-toned tints and offer light coverage. I can just barely see the murad one, the bareminerals has no cast. You definitely want to get a tinted formula!īareminerals prep step 50 and Murad city skin spf 50 both have kind of peachy tints that take away the cast. Mineral spf filters produce a white cast, as well as certain mattifying ingredients like silica. I don't have any mixed formulas to recommend, because they usually have octinoxate which I'm allergic to. I switched to chemical spf because I realized zinc dries me out, but I have tried SO MANY mineral sunscreens I have a lot to recommend. I usually am around NC35-37, and I really hate any kind of cast because I don't wear foundation every day so even a small cast is quite visible.
